Mentor Spotlight: David Defronzo
David overcame significant economic obstacles to get a college education: through hard work, perseverance, and a maturity that is hard to overstate.
“I was admitted to my first choice college but could not go because of financial constraints,” David recalls. He never looked back and graduated from college in 2017 with solid academic credentials, in spite of having to work part-time to make a living.
David has a passion that never ceases to impress. One of the first students in the MentorWorks program, he has grown to become a successful professional working at Eaton Vance, a renowned asset management firm which is one of the best places to work for in Massachusetts, according to the Boston Globe.
David got support from his mentor, Kathleen Federico, former HR head at Civitas Solutions, a Boston-based company, as he worked through his interview process. He is now a MentorWorks mentor and supporting students who are going through situations similar to his.
