In a recent article from Quartz, founder of Hootsuite Ryan Holmes illustrates the benefits of reverse mentoring, in which younger employees teach older executives new skills and ideas.

Traditionally, mentees seem to reap the most benefits. However, a relationship between a young professional and a more experienced mentor can actually be symbiotic.

Holmes points to specific categories that young professionals have more experience with, such as diversity, artificial intelligence, and cryptocurrency. In general, young people can provide fresh ideas to their mentors, making both parties better off.
